Nickel

Nickel was founded in 1996, based on a simple premise: skin is also a man’s world. At the time that meant inventing everything!
1996 saw the opening of the first Nickel spa in Paris, on Rue des Francs-Bourgeois. Dedicated entirely to men’s beauty, this emblematic space is both a beauty institute 100% for men and a concept store offering difficult to find, selective skincare and fragrance brands for men.
In 1999, Nickel opened the first in-store spa for men in the Printemps de l’Homme department store in Paris; in 2001 Nickel opened in New York, followed by London in 2005. These provide ample opportunity to observe the attitudes and expectations of men, and are invaluable in discovering the emerging trends in masculine beauty to offer men a specially designed range that gels perfectly with their lifestyle.
1996 was also the year Nickel created a groundbreaking complete range of skincare for men, which is today distributed through over 2000 points of sale worldwide. Honest, direct, masculine, the Nickel approach turns the cosmetic world on its head: forget “fat-reducing treatment” instead it is LOVE HANDLES treatment, no “daily moisturizing cream” but a BONNE GUEULE (Great Face) cream, no “energizing serum” but a MORNING AFTER RESCUE GEL... The Nickel concept was born! Aside from the straight-talking approach, Nickel formulas are serious, high-tech, and groundbreaking: each year, thanks to long-standing collaborations with a network of independent laboratories at the cutting edge of cosmetic technology, the range is enriched with innovative products to target men’s every skincare need, and in some cases completely change their habits. In 2009 and 2010, MAXYMUM, the oxygen-based anti-ageing treatment and LE GRAND BLUFF skin perfector were the latest buzz.
2010 marks a new stage. Having demystified skincare for men, Nickel is starting a new page in its history and making organic cosmetics accessible for everyone: NICKEL BIO is a unisex, anti-fatigue range which has accessible price positioning. Women also have the right to be nickel!
