Art Collection by Jacomo
Now, in 2010, Jacomo makes its spectacular return to New York with the launch of The Art Collection by Jacomo. Jacomo renews its long standing love affair with the arts by beginning an intimate conversation between visual artists and perfume with the launch of The Art Collection by Jacomo. Three very different artists from Jacomo’s private Art Collection were selected to work closely with perfumers to create a fragrance depicting an aromatic illustration of their specific artwork; each scent is named for its corresponding collection number.
The Artists:
Daniel Egnéus has been fascinated by famed 19th century illustrator Gustave Doré since he was a child. After spending 11 years living in London, Prague, Bologna, Rome and Berlin, he now lives in Milan. His #08 from the collection is an original work commissioned by Jacomo in 2009.
Cecilia Carlstedt is an extremely accomplished illustrator whose work explores the relationship between drawing and photography. New York City is a great source of inspiration for her. #02 was commissioned by Jacomo in 2009.
Stina Persson lives in Stockholm, Sweden, where the special light of the northern countries informs her work. Jacomo’s private collection acquired this existing work, #09, in 2009.
